Located where the North Atlantic Ocean meets the Caribbean Sea sits the island of Nevis, a serene oasis of land known for its miles of sunny beaches and lush greenery. The island, albeit small, has built a great reputation for being one of those destinations where work computers close and the stressors of everyday life drift away in the white-wash. If you are due for a vacation or in need of a break from your routine, look no further as the island of Nevis will check all your boxes for the getaway of your dreams.

Back in February of this year, we had the opportunity to visit Nevis and elevate our trip by staying at the one and only Four Seasons Nevis. Apart from the other accommodations on the island, this resort offered us an unforgettable experience with world-class amenities and breathtaking views. While the views were enough to give this property its five-star rating, it was the people, food, activities, and everyday luxuries throughout our stay that made it a trip worth making annually.

One of the most coveted accommodations at the resort is the two-bedroom sunset hill villa. This villa boasts stunning panoramic views of the Caribbean Sea, secluded by rich, tropical foliage. Upon walking into the villa, you are met with vaulted ceilings and an open-concept layout, welcoming your party with ultimate comfort and a fresh Caribbean breeze. With enough space for five, each bedroom is designed with custom-tailored bedding fit for your comfort, and each room is equipped with luxurious marble bathrooms to wash away the sand and salt from the day.

While the villa is located a short five-minutes away from the resort’s great house and beach via your private golf cart, the villa also features a private infinity pool, outdoor terrace, and spacious living areas, making a day spent at the villa just as relaxing and eventful.

When it comes to venturing outside of the villa, the Four Seaons Nevis doesn’t run short of activities and experiences for guests to indulge in. One of our most memorable experiences was a rum tasting we did with mixologist Kendie Williams that the resort hosted. If you’re a lover of rum and looking for a unique tasting experience, look no further than this unforgettable journey of flavors and aromas led by Williams.
As a renowned expert in Caribbean mixology, Williams shared her knowledge and passion for rum, highlighting the distinct characteristics of each variety. From bold and spicy notes of Jamaican rum to the smooth and delicate flavors of Barbadian rum, attendees were able to sample a wide range of premium rums, including some rare and hard-to-find bottles.

The tasting was held in a private setting at the resort’s beachfront Cabana restaurant, where guests were treated to stunning views of the Caribbean Sea while sipping on their drinks. Williams also shared cocktail recipes featuring the rums tasted, demonstrating the versatility of the spirit in different cocktails.
One of the highlights of the event was the opportunity to taste the Four Seasons Nevis’ own rum, distilled on the island using local sugarcane. Whether you’re a seasoned connoisseur or just getting started with your rum journey, this tasting is a must-try for anyone visiting the island.

For those seeking adventure or leisure, the resort offers a variety of land and water sports such as snorkeling, kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, tennis, and golf. Guests can also take a guided hike up the Nevis Peak volcano or explore the island’s rich history and culture on a guided tour. We were able to partake in a private tennis lesson hosted on the property, making for not only an enjoyable match but a polished swing to take away from our trip.

Overall, the Four Seasons Nevis Resort offers an unparalleled experience for those seeking a luxurious Caribbean getaway. With stunning accommodations, endless activities, and exceptional dining options, it’s no wonder why this resort is a top choice for travelers from around the world.
