Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, Mexico

About a 45-minute drive from Puerto Vallarta, in Riviera Nayarit, Mexico you can find Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita, a resort of unforgettable natural beauty and authentic and familial hospitality. With accommodations ranging from Oceanfront Casita rooms with Pacific Coast-facing terraces that deliver awe-striking orange and pink sunsets every evening to four-bedroom ocean front villas that come with fully equipped kitchens, private pools and enough living space to comfortably host 10 guests, this property from the Four Seasons family has something for travelers of all kinds.

Upon entering the lobby, you are greeted by smiling faces, a refreshing beverage, and a majestic and calming view of the Pacific Ocean.  “You can see whales dancing in the sea at this time of year”, the friendly concierge tells us. There is a natural beauty and warmth here unlike anything we’ve seen before. The resort grounds are immaculately landscaped, the nightly sunsets and start-filled skies are inspiring, and the sun shines almost everyday there. To put it quite simply, it is paradise.

The hospitality shown by the workers at this resort is genuinely warm. It’s anticipatory. Everyone we came in contact with was a natural conversationalist and easy to build a quick rapport with. The Four Seasons Punta Mita Resort team seems to view their roles as a calling to serve moreso than a profession. Everyone wants to be there and many of the team members we spoke to have been with the property for over 10 years. Setting aside the natural beauty of the property, it is no wonder that many guests have returned year after year as the Four Seasons team makes guests feel like they are staying with close family.

As health-conscious travelers, we were thrilled to see that we did not have to change our lifestyle when we arrived at the resort.  The onsite full-service fitness center has everything you need to get a full body training session in. There is a daily schedule of complimentary fitness classes and, as we were able to enjoy on the final morning of our visit, even a private yoga class you can sign up for that is held shortly after sunrise on The Rock, an elevated point between the resort’s two main beaches overlooking the vast ocean. The class, instructed by the private trainer Israel, was well worth the early wake up time and moving our bodies in the incredibly peaceful natural setting made for a perfect way to start the day.

As some of the members of our group maintain a plant-based diet, we were thrilled to see not only great vegetarian options at each of the resort’s eateries, but a full vegan program running throughout the property. From avocado toast on homemade sourdough at Dos Catrinas to the best cauliflower steak we’ve had in our lives at Bahia, the vegetarian options refreshingly did not seem like afterthoughts of the dining program here. Perhaps the most fitting way to describe the vegan program here is that it offers genuinely good food that just happens to not have animal products in it. Even if you do not maintain a plant-based diet, we strongly encourage you to try one of the delicious vegan options offered.

Finally, we really must commend the team at Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita for bringing the culture of Mexico to the resort grounds and allowing the guests who choose to not leave the resort a wonderful experience of Mexican culture during their stay, not only through the cuisine enjoyed, but through workshops available to guests. We had the pleasure of joining the Tequila Blending Experience where we learned how tequila develops its taste, how to appreciate and sense the aromas of tequila (there are over 50!), and created our very own blended tequila that was then gifted to us in a bottle we could share with friends and family upon our return home. The educational and cultural experience was unlike anything we have experienced in our travels thus far and left an indelible impression.

Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is more than a tropical escape for romance and relaxation. With authentic hospitality as its bedrock, being a guest there is a spiritually enriching experience. Surrounded by natural beauty and a resort team that brings new meaning to hospitality, treating you more like a close family member you haven’t seen in a few months, being a guest at Four Seasons Punta Mita is a one-of-a-kind retreat everyone must immerse themselves in at some point in their lives.
