Swiss watchmakers RADO are best known for being innovators and pioneers in the high-quality materials used in their watches. Since the mid 1900s, the family-owned company has made watches with unprecedented features. Starting with their introduction of the first scratch resistant watch in 1957, the company has released watches that you can trust will last a lifetime of daily use. Fast forward to present day, 2021, when Rado, which means “wheel” in the founding Schlup family’s native Swiss language, has released their newest collection, the Captain Cook High-Tech Ceramic.

The year 2021 has been a year of re-invention for many and so, it is fitting that the watchmakers have chosen this year to launch their newest collection. An essential element of this collection is the high-tech ceramic monobloc case construction, which is both scratch-resistant and hypoallergenic. Powered by the premium Rado calibre R734 with a Nivachron hairspring that protects the timepiece from magnetic fields, the collection boasts a few of Rado’s innovative achievements.

We gave two of the four watches from the collection a test drive over the past few months and are enamored with the quality and design of the watches. For a closer look at the Captain Cook High-Tech Collection, visit the Rado website.
